Created the 9th of october 2009, in Lyon, the Subsistances
To Agathe,
When Oedipus takes to the road after the tragedy, his aim is to live his life in a different way and find an equilibrium that has been destroyed. It is obvious that the vivid, rebellious and illuminating Antigone has to be part of the voyage. They know that they can only accomplish this together. On the road is a dialogue between the bodies of an injured man and a woman tightrope walker. The duo they create is a choreography of equilibrium. For Antoine Rigot, the tightrope artist who had a serious accident in May 2000, it is also a new step towards reinventing his art. For this reason, On the road is an infinitely personal approach to the tight-wire, way beyond a mere exercise in virtuosity.
